English (ESL) First 200 Words

Then learn these 200 words with sentences
(10 words a day for 3 weeks)

First 200 Word List

   Click on the word for a definition and pronunciation from 

the  Merriam-Webster dictionary. The words or lists of 

words can also be copied and placed in Google Translate 

to translate from 103 native languages. Under 

"Translations" we have done this for you in groups of 10.  

The default setting is for Spanish. Repeat click the audio 

to slow it down. 

The Bing Microsoft Translator is slower and easier to 

understand and it does 66 languages.  You can try copying 

to that translator as well.  It also has lists of sentences for 

common topics.

These 59 practice sentences contain the first 200 words.  

They can also be copied and placed in Google Translate 

to compare with 103 native languages.  Under 

"Translations" we have done this for you in groups of 10.
